Wir hoffen natürlich sehr, dass wir bald wieder wie gewohnt unsere Myanmar Gruppenreisen werden durchführen können und halten Sie hierzu über unseren Newsletter und unsere Website auf dem Laufenden. Zu Fuß, mit dem Fahrrad und per Boot erkunden wir auf dieser spannenden 3wöchigen Rundreise die schönsten Seiten Myanmars aktiv und intensiv! Die Reise eignet sich für alle, die neben den kulturellen Höhepunkten auch die vielseitigen Landschaften und das ursprüngliche Leben der traditionellen Bergvölker kennen lernen möchten, ohne dabei nur im Auto oder Flugzeug zu sitzen. Auf einer 2tägigen Wanderung tauchen wir ein in die schöne Landschaft und die Kultur der Bergvölker im Shan-Staat und können immer wieder mit Einheimischen ins Gespräch kommen, die Ihren alltäglichen Arbeiten nachgehen. Die Tagesetappen sind mit etwa 4-6 Stunden am Tag nicht besonders anstrengend und somit für jeden mit etwas Wanderlust geeignet. Wir bitten Sie um große Flexibilität und Offenheit für spontane Ereignisse. Natürlich werden wir alles daran setzen, den geplanten Reiseablauf einzuhalten. Es kann jedoch sein, dass organisatorische, politische und aktuelle Gründe eine Anpassung des Reiseablaufes im Interesse der Teilnehmer erfordern - bitte seien Sie hierauf vorbereitet. Segelbedingungen: Egal, ob Sie ein erfahrener Segler oder das erste Mal an Bord eines Schiffes sind, Sie werden das Mergui Archipel lieben! Eine Paradies so vielseitig und groß, man kann über Wochen von Strand zu Strand fahren oder die Tage auf dem Wasser verbringen.

Das Mergui Archipel liegt in tropischen Gewässern und die Temperaturen sind ständig warm und angenehm, mit Höchstwerten von 28-33C und Tiefstwerten von 20-24C.

Segeln ist das ganze Jahr über möglich, aber es gibt große Unterschiede zwischen den Jahreszeiten. Die beste Zeit ist zwischen November und April. Vor allem von Dezember bis Februar sind die Bedingungen perfekt. Das Wetter ist warm und sonnig, es weht ein stetiger Wind und die See ist ruhig. März und April sind weniger windig und deswegen besser zum Tauchen und Schnorcheln geeignet. Von Mai bis Juli gibt es starken Wind und es gibt gelegentlich Wirbelstürme. Von Juli bis Oktober ist Regenzeit.

Auch wenn einige Gewässer im Archipel noch nicht vollständig kartografiert und erforscht sind, ist das Segeln in der Region sehr sicher. Es gibt nur wenige Unterwasserhindernisse oder Riffe. Die gesamte Inselgruppe ist mit guten und sicheren Ankerplätzen ausgestattet.

Und falls Sie einen Tag ohne Wind haben, gibt es im Wasser und an Land genug zu erkunden. Außerdem schafft der Motor der Yacht auch ohne Wind bis zu 8 Knoten.

Die Reise ist für Kinder unter 18 Jahren nur in Begleitung eines Erwachsenen (mind. 21 Jahre) möglich.

We suggest that you pack as lightly as possible as your are expected to carry your own luggage. As a rule we try not to have to walk more than 15-20 minutes with your bags which is why we recommend keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. Suitcases are not recommended for G Adventures trips! Most travellers carry a backpack or rolling bag of small to medium size (no XXL ones please!) as they need to fit under the beds when travelling on sleeper trains. When selecting a travel insurance policy we require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. A minimum coverage of USD200,000 is required. G Adventures can provide you with the appropriate coverage. MEHRBETT-UNTERKÜNFTE: Beim Trekking (Klosterunterkunft), bei der Übernachtung an Bord des Holzbootes ist keine Unterbringung in Doppel- bzw. in Einzelzimmern möglich (Mehrbettunterkunft mit einfachen sanitären Anlagen).

DELFINTOUR: Derzeit leben noch etwa 20 der Säugetiere in den Stromschnellen des Irrawaddy. Wir können leider nicht garantieren, dass wir die Tiere auf jeder Tour antreffen, denn je nach Wasserstand leben sie mal etwas weiter nördlich oder südlich unseres Standortes. Leider minimiert sich die Anzahl der Tiere zunehmend - auch aufgrund von illegalen Fischfangmethoden. Die Wildlife Conservation Society forscht derzeit in diesem Gebiet. Nach Möglichkeit versuchen wir, einen der Mitarbeiter vor Ort zu sprechen. Mit unseren Reisen möchten wir die Arbeit der WCS zum Schutz der Delfine unterstützen.

Credit cards can be used at some upmarket restaurants, and at some larger stores if shopping for big items. When purchasing US dollars please make sure that the notes are new and in good condition. Notes older than 2003, or with any tears or blemishes may not be accepted. Although the cities visited on tour are generally safe during the day, there can be risks to wandering throughout any major city at night. It is our recommendation to stay in small groups and to take taxis to and from restaurants, or during night time excursions. Protests and Demonstrations- Protests and demonstrations, even those that are well intended, have the potential to turn violent with no warning. Counter protests can also turn violent. Action by security forces to disperse demonstrators and protesters may occur at any time. If you are in an area where demonstrators or protesters are gathering, avoid the temptation of staying for a good photo opportunity and leave the area immediately. Water based activities have an element of danger and excitement built into them. We recommend only participating in water based activities when accompanied by a guide(s).   Reisepass und Visum sind erforderlich. Visumgebühr (ca. EUR 25) und Besorgung nicht eingeschlossen.
  
  Derzeit muss für die Visabeschaffung bei der Botschaft mit einer Bearbeitungszeit von mindestens 4 Wochen gerechnet werden, wir empfehlen eine frühzeitige Einreichung des Visaantrages.
  
  Alternativ kann das Visum auch elektronisch beantragt werden. Dazu brauchen Sie auf der Internetseite http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/ lediglich Ihre Daten und ein Foto hochzuladen und die Kosten in Höhe von USD 50 per Kreditkarte begleichen. Sie erhalten im Anschluss einen "Approval Letter" per E-Mail, welchen Sie bei Einreise vorzeigen.
• Keine Impfungen vorgeschrieben, Hepatitis A/B, Typhus und evtl. Malariaprophylaxe empfohlen.
• Gesundheit / Impfungen
  Hepatitis A und Hepatitis B kommen landesweit vor. Eine Hepatitis A-Schutzimpfung wird generell empfohlen. Die Impfung gegen Hepatitis B sollte bei längerem Aufenthalt und engem Kontakt zur einheimischen Bevölkerung sowie allgemein bei Kindern und Jugendlichen erfolgen.
• Weiters wird eine Impfung gegen Typhus empfohlen, die Standardimpfungen wie Polio, Diphterie/Tetanus sollten ebenfalls kontrolliert und gegebenenfalls aufgefrischt werden.
• In einigen Teilen von Myanmar gibt es ein ganzjähriges Malariarisiko, eine Malariaprophylaxe oder die Mitnahme eines Stand by-Medikamentes gegen Malaria wird empfohlen.
• Da sich Impfempfehlungen immer wieder ändern können, empfehlen wir Ihnen, sich zusätzlich von Ihrem Arzt beraten zulassen.
• Klima
  Die beste Reisezeit für Myanmar ist der Winter von November bis März, während dieser Zeit ist es relativ trocken. Im Tiefland (z.B. Yangon) herrscht tropisches Klima, das Thermometer fällt tagsüber selten unter 30 Grad Celsius. Das Klima im Hochland Myanmars ist gemäßigt, von November bis März ist es tagsüber meist angenehm warm mit Temperaturen um 20 bis 25 Grad Celsius, in der Nacht kann es speziell in höheren Regionen über 1.000 m relativ kühl werden mit Temperaturen um 10 Grad. Während unserer Wanderreise bewegen wir uns meist in gemäßigten Klimazonen, in denen die Temperaturen zum Wandern sehr angenehm sind.
• Währung
  Die Landeswährung in Myanmar ist der Kyat. In der Zwischenzeit gibt es einen offiziellen Wechselkurs, man kann Euro am Flughafen, bei Banken oder Wechselstuben in Kyat wechseln. Die Scheine müssen möglichst neu und unversehrt sein, ansonsten werden sie nicht akzeptiert. Inzwischen gibt es auch Geldautomaten, an denen man mit EC Karte abheben kann.
  
  Kleidung
  Wir bitten Sie aus Rücksicht auf die einheimische Bevölkerung und die lokalen Sitten auf zu freizügige Kleidung zu verzichten. Knappe Shorts sind unangebracht, Hosen sollten zumindest bis übers Knie reichen. Beim Besuch von Pagoden sind lange Hosen üblich, Männer können auch den traditionellen Longyi tragen. Oberbekleidung sollte schulterbedeckend sein.

Unterkuenfte:

• Die Unterkunftskapazitäten in Myanmar sind aufgrund der derzeit hohen Nachfrage sehr begrenzt, daher kommt es immer wieder zu Hoteländerungen. In solchen Fällen versuchen wir natürlich immer, ein mindestens gleichwertiges Ersatzhotel zu buchen.
• Die Übernachtung im Kloster in Ya Sa Si ist einfach, aber sauber und erfolgt im Mehrbettzimmer, es werden Matratzen und Decken zur Verfügung gestellt. Toiletten vorhanden, Waschwasser wird in Schüsseln gereicht. Demgegenüber steht die einzigartige Möglichkeit, am Alltagsleben der Einheimischen und der Mönche, an ihren Traditionen und Bräuchen teilzuhaben.
